The mix of Arts

Enjoying the different aspects of creation

The key to growth is to keep learning. I realized long ago that I do not have it all figured out (though I wish I had), which can be frustrating. I also realized how that could be a blessing in itself. It may take more effort, more time (that in most cases nobody "pays for" if it is work related), and some more researching that one was hoping for, but in the end, it is worth it. Not only because you have learned something new and awesome that you will most likely use in the future (with a lot less effort next time), but because it is glorious. What I mean by that is that you get to feel the world expand and the barriers fall, and the reminder that there is so much more. The realization that you can be even better than you thought. That is superb. Not as a mean of bragging or prideful boasting, but with a humble heart and a childlike mind, as you realize that you don't have it all figured out. Realizing that you can continue to grow, learn, experience, reach, and become a better you. It is interesting how working at times can lead to revelations of things...

I have been discovering and learning a lot lately. I have been experimenting with some new software and creating different aspects of a starting business (my husband's actually). I have been having fun creating all kind of mixed media and items that need to be in place as this new business starts. In many other cases, I only get to be part of some aspects of a business organization, but since this is our business, I am all in. You may think that it may be easier since it is a "family business," but in reality (I don't if it is the same for you), but my husband can be a little picky (lol). The thing is that we can communicate with each other clearly, work and dream together, and explore without barriers the ideas we have about how to approach this business. We get to be specific, analytic and very detailed in what we are trying to accomplish as a company. And of course, design and business branding is part of what I love to do, so I want to do my very best. So, we have had many long days these last weeks. However, they have given me the opportunity to learn, experiment and grow in areas I do not get to do many times.

One of my favorite parts is that I have been able to work on some video/music elements for the social media content of the company. For those who do not know, I love music. I have created some music in the past, and I got some "toys" of my own (like instruments, and mics, etc.). So I have been able to make some simple background loops/songs for marketing purposes. So, thank you, dear husband, for giving me the chance to experiment and work in creative ways, mixing the various arts that make my heart beat.

The Stories behind the Designs

THE STORIES BEHIND THE DESIGNS   It is more than just work. Welcome to Macarena White Blog! Here you will be able to find and read the story behind the designs. I love creating and providing graphic services, but one of my favorites parts is that I get to join in and part take in some pretty awesome stuff! So, on this blog, you will get to experience the "behind the scenes"; you will learn about the project and the goal or purpose of that design and how it will impact and accomplish its specific purpose. Most importantly, you will hear me share about these small businesses, non-profit organizations, groups or particular people for whom I get to create. Think of it as "free marketing". After all, we are all pretty unique and special people and we are working, one way or the other, on shaping the world we live in. Join me and I assure you, you will not regret it! For it is much more than just work, it is about people. And people make this world a pre

The Dream of Hope

Bringing Hope to At-risk Kids and Families Zona de Esperanza or Hope Zone is an organization branched out of Youth With A Mission in Baja California, Mexico. Years ago, they started to work with at-risk kids and families in the heart of Tijuana.   Throughout the years, they have been able to provide help and support to many children in the area, and through that, also connect with their families. I was honored to help design the logo for what it is known as " Los Niños de la Zona " or Zone Kids. But as the years passed, more and more needs were being met, and they began to invest in mothers, fathers, and also the teens who started to come. Not long ago they were able to lease a building in the area to use as the main center to provide these services for the community. It was then when they realize that they needed a broader name. And that's how Hope Zone came to be. Zona de Esperanza is now the main umbrella under which all other groups will fall, with the primary

Every Little Thing Counts

Believe With Us & Ellianna's Story . Most of you probably noticed I was managing a t-shirt fundraiser campaign the last few weeks. It is an initiative to help a family of close friends whose baby girl named Ellianna has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Cancer is not unknown to us. I can probably guess that more than 50% of us knows somebody that has been affected or is currently fighting it. And, as with many other health issues as this, it is always hard to know how to respond and see how one can be of help. In the midst of feeling frustrated of my incapacity to change their situation, I realized that every little thing counts. I may not be able to change Ellianna's current health conditions, but I do have the opportunity to join them and give myself to her and her family during such challenging season. This is how the "Believe With Us" campaign started. It was the desire of giving  by using my talents to create a venue that would include others in helping Ellian
